The main part of my work involves submitting and hopefully obtaining planning permission (and listed building approval where necessary) and then obtaining building regulation approval. It may also be necessary to obtain a build-over agreement with Thames Water.

The party wall act may also apply, I can recommend a local surveyor who can deal with this if you do not wish to deal with this yourself.

There are several additional consultants that you may require depending on the project which include:

  • Arboriculturists
  • Structural Engineers
  • Land surveyors
  • Soil analysis/testing
  • Piling contractors
  • Energy consultants for SAP and overheating calculations
  • Sound testing consultants
  • Party wall surveyors
  • Ecologists for bat/newt surveys

The first stage is for me to visit the site/property, listen to your requirements, and assess the work required.

I will then provide a fixed fee quotation for each stage to undertake the work required together with any local authority fees payable. Quotations for outside consultants will be obtained where possible.

Following instruction I will visit site again to survey the existing building to enable me to produce existing plans and elevations. A scheme is then added to the drawings and amended as required before submission to the LA for planning approval.
